Post Transplant Update

Deann has a couple of days off from any treatments today and tomorrow. She’ll get her final chemo Sunday & she also finishes up taking steroids & thalidomide then. I guess that means they’ve wiped out all the bad cells, along with quite a few good ones! Now, it’s up to her system to start generating new cells. She’s doing great...no more “good” vomits lately. We’ll be reporting her progress regularly.

Picture to the left is of Deann’s doctor, Dr Tricot (Tree-co as we say here in the States). He comes to Salt Lake from Belgium...with an intermediate stop in Arkansas (It looks like somebody from Arkansas under the influence of moonshine took this picture)! Dr. Tricot is just the kind of guy you want treating your loved ones for a serious illness. He is very thorough in his treatment of patients...takes the time to know all the details of their medical history and knows exactly how best to treat them. He loves Deann... always gives her a big smile & a pat on the head!

  1. Im so glad she has found such an amazing doctor who really cares about her health....those are hard to find believe you me. But it sure feels good when you find one who cares and loves you. I know how good that feels too. Im so glad you get to have a couple days off. So does that mean youre gonna go trick-or-treating? Might as well. And if youre really missing being sick to you tummy you can eat your heart out on all the candy till youre sick, or you could just rest in bed and enjoy a couple days of peace. Love ya, and I love seeing all those smiles on your face. keep it up girl.

  2. Hey Sis, Sounds like your progress is going well. That's great! Love the pics. Its good seeing you. What's up with the doc? Poor guy looks a little shakey.

I'll bet you're looking forward to a couple of days off treatments and going to the hospital. Get lots of rest so your body can generate many, many good cells.

Sarah is doing a geat job with this blog and keeping us up to date on your progress. Thanks, Sarah.

    I love you, Deann

  5. From Marilyn:

This is Marilyn saying "Hi." Laurie had to lead me by the hand, head, and a few other things trying to get me on her blog so I could check your comings and goings. My wretched cold that I was over for five days came back with a vengeance so I was homebound over the weekend and missed all the excitement. Of course I don't answer the door for trick-or-treaters and wouldn't have gone to the parade anyway, so guess I really wasn't deprived at all. So glad to catch up on your progress, just keep up the good work and know that I'm thinking of you, lighting candles and adding a few prayers for good measure. Love you, Marilyn
